Conversation Series on Dementia - Safety Awareness

Thursday: January 26    4:00 – 5:30 pm
Safety awareness is the focus this January for an open forum of sharing designed for families and friends of people with memory loss and dementia. Ongoing series of special speakers and resources presented in an interactive setting.

 

“Wresting a living from our land: Edgecomb’s industrial past”

Tuesday, January 31    3:30 – 4:30 pm
Come hear how mills, quarries, icehouses and more contributed to the growth and prosperity of Edgecomb. Jay Robbins from Robbins Historical Research will speak and share his resources.

 

Young at Heart

Wednesdays every week    2:00 – 3:00 pm
This musical group of singers and dancers is for anyone ages 55 – 105! Come join in and sing for fun. Rehearsals are at the Lincoln Home in preparation for a live performance in May. Come have a great time and enjoy this spirited group.

 

High School Student Art Exhibit

A uniquely creative art show of Boothbay Region and Lincoln Academy High School students. The public is encouraged to visit and enjoy this show between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm . Ongoing until February 15th.

 

Andrew Vietz, author of “ Becoming Teddy Roosevelt”

Tuesday, February 7    3:30 – 4:30 pm
Former managing editor of “Down East,” Andrew Vietz, will tell us how Teddy Roosevelt, a privileged, asthmatic Harvard student, teamed up with Bill Sewell, a guide from tiny Island Falls in Aroostook County, to climb Mt. Katahdin and went on to become lifelong friends. Book reading, signing, questions and answers.

 

Chocolate Fest for Healthy Kids

Saturday February 11    7:00 – 8:30 pm
Join in the fun of an evening of chocolate and silent auction to raise funds for Healthy Kids, a community based family resource network to prevent child abuse and neglect in Lincoln County. Tickets on sale at Coastal Book Store.

Historical Presentation on the Life of a Maine Soldier, by Hank Lunn

Monday, February 27    3:00 – 4:00 pm
Come listen to Hank Lunn, in Union soldier uniform, tell the story of the hardships of the common Union Soldier from enlistment to Battle of Little Round Top as it was during the Civil War under the command of Joshua Chamberlain.
